13 Israeli soldiers killed via pleasant fire; Zara backs off ad campaign: Live updates
The loss of life toll of Israeli soldiers in Gaza has surpassed 100, and 20 of those killed were victims of pleasant hearth or other accidents, the Israeli army said Tuesday.
Thirteen of the deaths were from friendly hearth due to incorrect identification in the course of shelling, gunfire and airstrikes, the Israeli navy printed to a couple of Israeli media outlets. Most of the different deaths concerned weapon misfires.
At least 1,645 soldiers have been injured considering "Operation Swords of Iron" started in response to a militant assault that Israel says killed about 1,200 people in communities bordering Gaza, the army says. The militants then dashed again to Gaza with 240 hostages, more than half of whom continue to be captives.
More than 18,000 Palestinians have died in Israel's assault on the enclave.
