Israel-Gaza live updates: 12 hostages released in modern exchange: IDF
The hostages include 10 Israelis and two foreign nationals, both from Thailand.
A four-day cease-fire between Hamas and Israel has been prolonged by two days, Qatari officials announced on Monday.
Dozens of the more than 2 hundred people taken hostage throughout Hamas' Oct. 7 shock attack on Israel and held in the war-torn Gaza Strip for nearly two months have been launched over the ultimate few days for the duration of the truce. Hamas has freed eighty one of the hostages in alternate for one hundred eighty Palestinians released from Israeli prisons.
Twelve hostages are again in Israeli territory in the state-of-the-art exchange, in accordance to the Israeli government.
The hostages consist of 10 Israelis and two overseas nationals, both from Thailand, officials said.
The Israeli citizens had been recognized as Tamar Metzger, 78; Ditza Hayman, 84; Norlin Babdila, 60; Ada Sagi, 75; Ophelia Edith Roitman, 77; Rimon Kirsht, 36; Merav Tal, 53; and the Leimberg household -- Gabriella Leimberg, 59, Mia Leimberg, 17, and Clara Marman, 63.
The IDF stated the hostages have been taken thru Egypt earlier than heading to a meeting point in Kerem Shalom, in Israel.
Five of the women -- Metzger, Hayman, Ada Sagi, Roitman and Tal -- had been residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, one of the communities hit hardest via Hamas' Oct. 7 attack.
"They were held captive, in harsh conditions and disadvantaged of essential clinical care. Two of the women released have been separated from their husbands, who stay in captivity," the kibbutz said in a statement. "The Nir Oz neighborhood is dedicated to help them, and their families, thru the long recuperation system ahead."
Thirty Palestinian prisoners have been released in alternate for the hostages, according to Qatari officials.
